If content is king, finding efficient and effective ways to create SEO-friendly content that also resonates with users is crucial. One solution that has been gaining popularity is using ChatGPT or similar AI-powered language models (LLMs) for content generation. In this article, I’ll dive into the world of using ChatGPT for content creation and explore its impact on SEO and organic visibility.

Before everyone gets mad at me for doing this, it is mainly a test and a wish to use these tools in a better way. Tons of website owners are going to use ChatGPT for content anyway, maybe we as Digital Marketers can lead them to improve the way they do it. Using my SEO Content Template as the prompt can seriously boost the quality of the output.

Ideally, you would fill out the entire template, but the most important part is the Page Information which includes the page bracket to tell ChatGPT exactly what you want the bones of the article to be. Below I am going to cover how you can change up the template into a powerful ChatGPT prompt for content. I cannot stress this enough, you still need to review and edit. This post is created with this process, it took me 38 minutes to complete this from prompt creation, to reviewing, to publishing. That is nothing when talking about quality content creation.

There are all sorts of warnings throughout this article that LLM created content should not be blindly published and it cannot replace human creativity and personalization. It can however really help businesses that may not have a ton of time to create helpful content on their website. Create with ChatGPT, but spend the time to review, edit and personalize.

ChatGPT Content Template Prompt Walkthrough

To harness the potential of ChatGPT for content creation, it’s essential to provide clear and strategic prompts. I’ve developed a free SEO Content Template that can guide ChatGPT effectively. Below, we’ll break down this template to highlight specific portions relevant to content creation.

  1. First, we start off with a very wordy prompt to get ChatGPT’s creative juices flowing. There are 3 brackets in there that are relative to the topic of your content. Make sure you fill those out!
  2. Next, you will document the keywords or queries you want to structure the content around. This can be super helpful when optimizing old content based on user search terms!
  3. Now we get into the SEO elements creating the URL, Title, Description and Links to include. Not as important for the prompt, but helpful to think about as you are creating.
  4. Lastly, we get into the meat of the Content Prompt. Create the entire structure of the page.
    • This includes creating all the headlines and sub-topics.
    • Add in questions to answer or consider.
    • Lead the tool as much as you can!

To make your article informative and engaging, be sure to discuss the tradeoffs involved in balancing different factors, and explore the challenges associated with different approaches. Make sure to include the relevant keywords provided by the user, follow SEO best practices and tailor the article to their interests and needs.
